Correcting Misconceptions and Finding the Merits of Christian Prep Schools
I must admit I first hesitated sending my child to the Christian Preschool San Diego. because I considered the possibility of it being too restrictive for him. It might be too conservative or too strict. I firmly believe children need a certain level of freedom in order to develop well. They have to explore and see things firsthand. But I was convinced that I wanted to send my kid to a Southern California Private Prep School, and so I found myself giving the place a chance.
I am very, very happy that I did. I soon realized that my fear of sending him to a Christian prep school stemmed mostly from my ill-informed, sordid misconception that it would be like a monastery or a convent: too religious, too quiet. But the school was not that at all!
The school is geared towards developing children not only physically, intellectually, or emotionally, but also spiritually. Mainly, it means that this particular Southern California Prep School is interested, not only in teaching the alphabet and getting children acquainted with colors, but also in building their moral foundations, enabling them to see the world and themselves with a sense of purpose and justice. Meanwhile, they are also protected from bad influences because it is private school, without altogether compromising their experiences of the world. As a result, this builds them up, not just to behave better, but to engage life better.
Truly, I am glad I sent my child to a school where his safety and growth are secured.
